A European Parliament delegation is set to visit Poland and Lithuania from March 30 to April 1 to discuss responses to hybrid threats and foreign interference, as announced in a recent press release by the European Parliament. Led by Nathalie Loiseau of the Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield (EUDS), the five-member team will evaluate the local strategies against hybrid threats, including the instrumentalisation of migrants, foreign interference, disinformation, and cybersecurity. Their itinerary includes high-level meetings with government officials and security directors in both countries. In Poland, the delegation will meet with key figures such as Paweł Dąbrowski, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of the Interior and Administration for International Cooperation, and Zbigniew Muszyński, Director of the Government Centre for Security. They will also engage with Hans Leijtens, Executive Director of Frontex, discussing border security and migration issues. Meanwhile, in Lithuania, discussions will cover national cybersecurity capabilities with Rokas Jonikas, Deputy Director of the National Cyber Security Centre, among other officials. The visit aims to deepen understanding and cooperation between European nations in tackling complex security challenges, aligning with broader EU strategies for enhancing member state resilience against external threats. Media representatives wishing to cover the delegation’s activities can contact local press officers in Poland and Lithuania for more information.
