In a significant humanitarian effort, the Olena Zelenska Foundation has delivered 28 generators to various medical, educational, and social institutions across Ukraine, ensuring continued operation amidst challenging conditions. This initiative, valued at nearly UAH 10.5 million, also included the distribution of 120 portable charging stations and 30 gas heaters, enhancing the resilience of these critical facilities. Among the key beneficiaries are Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 7 and Sosnytsia Hospital in the Chernihiv region, with the former hosting one of the largest hematology-oncology departments in the country. Additionally, geriatric and social care institutions received 13 generators and eight portable charging stations, while large foster families in multiple regions including Dnipro and Kyiv were provided with 111 charging stations. The effort extends to educational institutions and community centers in the Dnipro region which received essential supplies to maintain heat and connectivity. The foundation’s president, Olena Zelenska, emphasized the importance of energy resilience, stating, “Energy resilience today is about the ability of hospitals, schools, and social institutions to operate without interruption, and of families to feel protected even in difficult conditions.” The support from international partners such as UNHCR, the Kellner Family Foundation, and various diplomatic entities have been pivotal in this widespread effort. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine continues to pose severe challenges to its citizens, making such support crucial for the survival and stability of its institutions and communities.
