In a significant virtual assembly, Kyrylo Budanov, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, engaged with young Ukrainian leaders from around the globe to discuss the upcoming fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The meeting, which included about 150 youth organizations spanning all continents, underscores Ukraine’s ongoing resistance and its role as a bastion of democratic values. The online conference also featured key Ukrainian political figures such as Sergiy Kyslytsya, First Deputy Head of the Office of the President; Olena Kovalska, Deputy Head of the Office of the President and Co-Chair of the Council on Youth Affairs; Mariana Betsa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Oleksandr Sanchenko, Member of Parliament and Co-Chair of the Council on Youth Affairs. Budanov praised the patriotism of the Ukrainian youth abroad and emphasized the importance of their role in preserving Ukrainian identity and supporting the country’s fight against external aggressions. Key discussions during the meeting focused on coordinating global events scheduled for February 24, aimed at bolstering international support for Ukraine. These preparations coincide with the “Stand With Ukraine” campaign led by Volodymyr Kogutyak, Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress in Western Europe, from February 21 to 28, advocating for the rights and protection of Ukrainian children affected by the conflict. Moreover, the establishment of a Coordination Centre for Ukrainian Youth Abroad was proposed by Oleksandr Sanchenko to foster ongoing and effective communication between Ukraine and its young diaspora. Deputy Head Olena Kovalska extended an invitation to these young individuals to engage with youth councils in Ukraine, further integrating their efforts into national initiatives. This meeting not only highlights the resilience and unity of the Ukrainian community worldwide but also reinforces Ukraine’s pivotal role in the global fight for democracy and human rights.
