Townsville, Queensland – In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the Townsville Tactical Crime Squad (TCS) has successfully charged 16 individuals under Operation Xray Remix. The operation, which spanned from December 2024 to August 2025, targeted the distribution of dangerous drugs and unlawful weapons in the region. The extensive operation led to the execution of 11 search warrants across various residential and commercial properties in Townsville. Overall, the individuals faced a total of 423 charges. Law enforcement officials managed to seize around 16 kilograms of cannabis, $70,000 in cash, 15 illegal weapons, and over 3,000 rounds of ammunition during the raids. Senior Sergeant Adrian Rieck, Officer in Charge of Townsville TCS, highlighted the operation’s impact on community safety. “This operation showcases our commitment to eradicating the flow of illegal drugs and weapons in our community,” said Rieck. He praised the meticulous planning and intelligence gathering that went into making the operation a success. Among those apprehended were a 30-year-old man from Heatley, charged with 37 offences, a 22-year-old Kirwan man facing 91 charges, and a 30-year-old from Thuringowa Central, who was slapped with 79 charges. The charges include trafficking, possession, and supply of dangerous drugs. The accused are awaiting their court appearances scheduled for early 2026.
