Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch have successfully charged four individuals following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Arundel on November 11, 2025. The operation uncovered a large-scale shoplifting scheme and resulted in the seizure of stolen goods and illegal substances. Early morning on the day of the raid, police officers descended on the house located on Arun Drive, as part of an investigation into extensive thefts affecting local retailers. The search led to the discovery of two van loads of toys and other high-value goods, believed to be part of a sophisticated receipt-fraud operation. Allegedly, the suspects created fake receipts to mimic those of major retail stores to facilitate the unauthorized removal of merchandise, which was later sold on social media platforms. In addition to the stolen property, authorities found quantities of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and two firearms, one of which was identified as a modified gel blaster. The house’s four occupants were arrested and face multiple charges, including possession of dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons, and receiving tainted property. The 46-year-old man from Arundel faces several charges and is scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on November 26. His charges include entering premises to commit an indictable offence and driving without a license. The other individuals, a 45-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man, are also due in court on December 1 and December 10, respectively, to face similar charges. As the investigation continues, police urge anyone with information to contact Policelink or report anonymously via Crime Stoppers. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Queensland Police to tackle crime and ensure public safety across the region.
