Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch have apprehended two individuals linked to armed robberies at two Gold Coast businesses on November 5. The culprits targeted an adult store in Arundel and a food business in Nerang, escalating concerns about public safety in the area. The first incident unfolded around 8:15 PM when the armed duo entered the Brisbane Road store, threatening an employee and fleeing on foot with stolen cash. A few hours later, at approximately 11:03 PM, the same offenders struck a food business on Station Street, again wielding weapons and making off with a sum of money. Their escape was marred by a collision involving their black Holden Captiva and an orange MG ZST, but they managed to flee the scene. Police efforts intensified shortly after the robberies, leading to the capture of a 42-year-old suspect found near the parked getaway vehicle. A 25-year-old man from Nerang was arrested the following day. Charges against the suspects include armed robbery and entering with intent, among others. The 42-year-old faced court proceedings today, while the younger suspect is scheduled for a court appearance tomorrow. The Queensland Police continue their investigations and urge anyone with information to come forward. They provide various reporting options, including Policelink and Crime Stoppers, to encourage community cooperation in maintaining public safety.
