In a substantial law enforcement operation in Townsville, the Queensland Police State Flying Squad (SFS) apprehended 30 individuals on a total of 88 charges, spanning from October 20 to October 28, 2025. This police surge aimed to bolster local law enforcement efforts and significantly curb crime rates in the region.

During the operation, SFS officers arrested 13 adults on 50 charges, including drug offenses and breach of bail, while 17 young individuals faced 38 charges, ranging from unlawful entry to serious assault. Among those arrested was a 30-year-old man from Vincent, Townsville, who faced multiple charges including vehicle theft, fraud, and domestic violence offenses after police executed a search warrant at his residence.

The crackdown not only led to numerous arrests but also provided substantial support to local police, enhancing their capacity for investigative operations and increasing their visibility in the community. Detective Inspector Joe Nixon emphasized the positive impact of the SFS’s involvement, stating that their presence has significantly improved community safety and that their support will continue wherever needed.

This operation reflects the ongoing commitment of the Queensland Police Service to maintaining safety and security in Townsville and other communities, demonstrating the effectiveness of deploying specialized squads in regions experiencing high crime rates.
