As Operation Xray Sorcerer continues on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland Police are reporting significant strides in combating anti-social behavior among young individuals. Initiated in September by the Queensland Police Service (QPS), the operation has seen 135 arrests linked to 388 offenses, with proactive patrols playing a key role. The ongoing initiative has expanded to include high visibility and covert patrols targeting key areas such as public transport hubs and shopping centers, known gathering spots for youths. A notable incident on October 18 involved the chase and arrest of two teenagers in Mooloolaba, who were later found in possession of a knife and a billy club, respectively. Beyond the arrests and weapon seizures, the operation emphasizes community engagement, particularly with vulnerable children and their families. Detective Inspector Chris Toohey highlighted the significance of the Sunshine Coast Youth Co-Responder Team, which collaborates with families to ensure adequate support and supervision of the youth involved. The QPS remains committed to maintaining public safety through targeted patrols and investigative strategies, aiming to reduce weapon-related crimes and enhance community security. Residents are advised to remain aware of police presence and ongoing operations in public spaces. Post navigation Boost for Australia’s Triple Zero Hampton Murder Mystery Deepens
