Ukraine has officially been invited to join the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention, marking a significant step in its ongoing fight against corruption. The invitation, extended by the OECD Working Group on Bribery, also includes Ukraine becoming a full member of the Working Group. This development was announced on the official website of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on October 23, 2025.

The decision to invite Ukraine comes in recognition of its considerable advancements in anti-corruption measures and the implementation of necessary mechanisms to uphold transparency in international business transactions. The OECD highlighted Ukraine’s readiness to align its legislation with the standards set forth in the Convention to ensure full compliance.

The move is expected to bolster international cooperation in investigating corruption offenses and enhance Ukraine’s stature as a trustworthy global partner. Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Iryna Mudra, emphasized the importance of this cooperation, noting that it will not only strengthen Ukraine’s international relations but also attract more investment into the country. Furthermore, Ukraine is preparing to apply for full membership in the OECD, an organization that comprises 38 leading economies worldwide and supports Ukraine with expert advice and analytical assistance. Joining the OECD is seen as a strategic step for Ukraine to foster investor confidence and enhance governance and transparency at an international level.
