Police in Moreton have successfully apprehended a 30-year-old man following an armed robbery incident in Bridgeman Downs. The arrest occurred after a tense overnight operation involving the POLAIR helicopter and police dog squad.

The incident, which transpired on October 19, began when two men allegedly entered a residence on Stirling Street around 3:30 pm. The homeowner, a 40-year-old male, reportedly confronted the intruders, one of whom threatened him with a knife before they fled in a white Toyota Corolla.

Following intensive police investigations, one of the suspects was located hiding in a tree at a Strathpine residence. Despite initially evading capture and resisting arrest, he was taken into custody early on the morning of October 20. The charges against him include armed robbery, serious assault of a police officer, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of used drug paraphernalia.

The Brisbane Magistrates Court is set to hear the case on October 21. Meanwhile, police investigations continue as they seek to apprehend the second suspect involved in the robbery. Authorities urge anyone with information to reach out via Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
