The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has identified multiple violations of the Commercial Radio Code of Practice by The Kyle and Jackie O Show. The breaches occurred between August and December 2024, leading to significant concerns over the program’s content. ACMA’s investigation pointed to a series of decency rule infractions by both Melbourne’s KIIS 101.1 and Sydney’s KIIS 106.5, operated by Commonwealth Broadcasting Corporation Pty Ltd and Double T Radio Pty Ltd respectively. These stations are part of the Australian Radio Network (ARN). Specifically, Melbourne’s KIIS 101.1 was found guilty of three decency breaches, while Sydney’s KIIS 106.5 had four, alongside failures in handling complaints effectively. The contentious broadcasts featured episodes with inappropriate content, such as a guessing game involving audio clips of staff urinating, offensive discussions about sexual positions, and lewd conversations about masturbation and pornography. These findings are in addition to previous breaches identified earlier in 2025, bringing the total to 12 for the year. ACMA Chair Nerida O’Loughlin expressed serious concerns about systemic issues with the show, criticizing the program for airing “vulgar, sexually explicit and deeply offensive” material. Despite previous infractions and additional censorship measures, the show continues to flout community standards. ACMA is now considering enforcement actions to ensure ARN takes full responsibility for its broadcast content, O’Loughlin added.
