In a significant law enforcement operation, the Upper Mount Gravatt Tactical Crime Squad (UMG TCS) of the Queensland Police Service has seized $150,000 worth of illicit drugs in Brisbane’s southern suburbs. The operation, carried out on September 15, 2025, resulted in the arrest of two men and the confiscation of 31 kilograms of dangerous drugs. The UMG TCS officers executed search warrants at two addresses, one on Ridings Street in Sunnybank Hills and another on Hillcrest Street in Rochedale. The raids uncovered a substantial quantity of drugs, as well as equipment and cash linked to drug production and trafficking activities. A 31-year-old man from Sunnybank Hills faces multiple charges, including trafficking and possession of dangerous drugs, and was denied bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 16. A second suspect, a 28-year-old man, was charged with possession-related offenses and is due in court on October 28. The Queensland Police continue to investigate the trafficking network and urge the public to provide any information that could aid in dismantling these criminal activities. Senior Sergeant Murray Cumner emphasized the commitment to eradicating dangerous drugs from the community and warned that those involved in such offenses will face severe consequences.
