Brussels, September 11, 2025 — The European Parliament is set to tackle a series of pressing issues today, including a critical resolution on the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, solidarity with Poland amid Russian drone incursions, and strategies to combat heatwaves affecting the continent.

In response to the dire situation in Gaza, Members of the European Parliament will vote at noon on a resolution titled “Gaza at breaking point: EU action to combat famine, the urgent need to release hostages and move towards a two-state solution.” This follows a debate with EU diplomacy chief Kaja Kallas earlier this week.

Meanwhile, the recent breach of Polish airspace by Russian drones has prompted an extraordinary plenary debate with the European Commission, scheduled for 11:00. This discussion aims to solidify EU support for Poland in light of the incursions, reinforcing the bloc’s stance on security and territorial integrity.

The session will also address environmental challenges, as MEPs, joined by Commissioner Piotr Serafin, discuss measures to mitigate the impact of heatwaves through improved housing and health policies. This debate, starting at 09:15, underscores the EU’s commitment to tackling climate-induced issues.

In addition to these key topics, the Parliament will deliberate on enhancing the EU’s internal market, academic alliances, and a dementia strategy, with votes on various resolutions expected at noon. Live coverage of the plenary session is available via the Parliament’s webstreaming platform and EbS+.
