President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a significant meeting with representatives from Kharkiv’s business, volunteer, and academic communities on August 4, 2025, to address pressing issues amid ongoing wartime challenges. The President expressed gratitude to the region’s residents, particularly commending veterans, medical professionals, and utility workers for their resilience.

Key discussions centered on economic support for frontline and border areas, including proposals for a special program aimed at reducing tax burdens for businesses. Zelenskyy emphasized the state’s commitment to consider increasing exemptions from mobilization for enterprises in these regions and to explore mechanisms for raising salaries for educators and public sector employees.

Additionally, the government plans to introduce business insurance and mortgage guarantees for local businesses. The meeting also touched upon veterans’ support and the restructuring of gas-related debts. Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba mentioned an upcoming legislative initiative to protect the accounts of affected enterprises.

The President assured that concerns regarding tariff discrepancies for heat utility companies would be addressed in coordination with the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and Naftogaz, aiming to resolve these pressing issues effectively.
