President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has paid tribute to the victims of a devastating Russian strike on a nine-story residential building in Kyiv. The attack, which occurred in the Sviatoshynskyi district on the night of July 31, claimed the lives of 28 people, including five children, and injured 21 others.

During a visit to the site, President Zelenskyy laid flowers in memory of those lost and assured residents of swift governmental support. “We will help you all. Tomorrow, ministers will meet and quickly adopt decisions to support you,” he stated, emphasizing the urgency of assistance without bureaucratic delays.

The attack was part of a larger assault on Kyiv, which resulted in a total of 31 deaths and 179 injuries. Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko reported that 216 personnel and 54 units of State Emergency Service equipment were deployed in the response efforts, which concluded with search and rescue operations completed the following morning.

President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the emergency workers and volunteers who aided in the aftermath, highlighting their role in rescuing victims and clearing debris. As the community grapples with the loss, efforts continue to address reports of lost or damaged property from 470 residents.
