In a dramatic turn of events on the evening of July 3, Queensland Police successfully apprehended two individuals following a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle. The incident began when a white Mazda 3 was reported stolen from a carpark on Eastern Road, Browns Plains, between 7pm and 8pm.

The vehicle was later spotted by police moving through Logan Central on Wembley Road, prompting a pursuit that involved Polair tracking. The chase reached the Pacific Motorway and continued southbound before exiting at Yatala. The tense situation concluded after officers deployed a tyre deflation device near Pimpama just before 10pm, which brought the vehicle to a halt on Mirambeena Drive, Ormeau. The two occupants attempted to flee on foot but were quickly captured with the assistance of the Dog Squad and Polair.

A 14-year-old boy from Logan Central has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation, and driving without a license. He is scheduled to appear in Southport Children’s Court today. Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man from Alberton faces charges of unlawful vehicle use and possession of dangerous drugs, with a court appearance set for July 17 at Southport Magistrates Court.
