NVIDIA says open artificial intelligence models are supporting a growing range of public-sector projects across Europe, giving governments greater control over how the technology is adapted and deployed.

According to the NVIDIA Newsroom, open models can be evaluated and modified for local languages, government services and specific administrative needs. Public agencies can also run the models on infrastructure they control and apply their own safeguards.

The approach is intended to help governments keep sensitive information within controlled environments while developing modern digital services. NVIDIA said some open models offer additional capabilities that can be tailored to public-sector requirements.

The company outlined the projects in a post published Oct. 22, 2026, describing open models as a potential tool for expanding artificial intelligence use in European government operations.
