Two people were injured in a serious two-vehicle crash at Greenmount, Queensland, on the morning of Oct. 20, Queensland Police said. The driver of a Toyota Corolla was airlifted to hospital, while the passenger was taken to hospital with arm injuries.

Police said a B-double truck was travelling south on Greenmount Etonvale Road at about 10 a.m. when a vehicle ahead stopped to turn right into Christensen Road. As the truck driver braked, the rear trailer allegedly slid into the opposite lane and struck a red 2020 Toyota Corolla hatchback.

The Toyota driver, a woman in her 60s, sustained serious injuries. Her passenger, a man in his 40s, suffered arm injuries, while the truck driver, a man in his 60s, was not physically injured.

The Toowoomba Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to contact Queensland Police. Investigations are continuing.
