Two women have been charged over the alleged robbery and assault of a 66-year-old man in Toowoomba City, Queensland, on October 2. Police said the man suffered minor injuries and had his wallet and mobile phone stolen. The man was reportedly walking along Russell Street shortly after 5:10 p.m. when two women approached him from behind near the intersection with Ruthven Street. Police allege he was pushed to the ground and struck his head before the women fled. During a struggle, one woman allegedly dropped the phone. Officers arrested two women at an address in Harristown later that day. Police also allege the pair used the man’s bank card to make fraudulent purchases at several local businesses. Both women, aged 36 and from Harristown, have been charged with robbery in company. One faces seven fraud charges, while the other faces three.
