A 44-year-old man from Alice River has died after a multi-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway at Stuart, near South Port Road, on September 28, Queensland Police said. Police said a white Hyundai i30 and a white Mazda B2500 utility had slowed at about 6 a.m. because of livestock on the highway when a Kawasaki motorcycle clipped the Hyundai and struck the rear of the Mazda. The motorcyclist was taken to Townsville University Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead. No one else was physically injured. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone with dashcam footage or information about the crash.
