Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has enacted sanctions against individuals accused of participating in Russia’s organization of illegal “elections” to the State Duma in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. The sanctions implement a decision by Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council. The presidential office said the measures target people involved in conducting or supporting the elections, which Kyiv considers illegitimate. In a separate address, Zelenskyy said Ukraine had identified several interceptor prototypes designed to counter Russian jet-powered drones. He said teams were already using some of the systems in combat and that the technology could become a primary means of defense against the threat.
