A 47-year-old man has been charged with 17 offences following an investigation into multiple retail thefts, including the alleged stealing of trading cards from stores across southeast Queensland. Logan Criminal Investigation Branch detectives and police officers attended a home on Birun Street, Woodridge, on September 22. Officers allegedly found the man hiding in a bedroom and arrested him without incident. Police allege the man was wanted in connection with thefts and other property offences at Tanah Merah, Shailer Park, Mount Gravatt and Redland Bay. He has been charged with 12 counts of stealing and two counts of entering premises and committing an indictable offence, along with three other offences. The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 29. Queensland Police said investigations remain ongoing and encouraged retailers and members of the public to report suspicious activity.
