A 34-year-old Kallangur man has been charged following an alleged assault and robbery at a park on Gympie Road in Petrie early September 24, Queensland Police said. Police were called to the park at 3:41 a.m. after reports that a man had allegedly punched another man, whom he did not know, and stolen several items. Police further allege the accused had a knife in his possession, although it was not presented during the incident. The alleged victim, a 57-year-old man, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and taken to hospital in a stable condition. The accused faces charges of robbery with violence, possessing a knife in a public place, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing utensils used in connection with drugs.
