Samsung Electronics and game developer NC showcased glasses-free 3D technology at Tokyo Game Show 2026, using Samsung Spatial Signage to bring characters from the upcoming urban fantasy role-playing game Astrae Oratio into a physical booth environment. The event was held Sept. 17-20 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. An 85-inch Spatial Signage display was installed at the entrance of NC’s booth as part of an elevator-themed presentation. Samsung said its 3D Plate technology created a sense of depth without requiring viewers to wear special glasses, making the game’s characters appear nearly life-size and seemingly emerge into the real world. Smaller 32-inch displays were also placed in waiting areas and along the visitor route. Their slim profiles allowed NC to extend the character experience through space-constrained parts of the booth while maintaining room for merchandise storage and visitor circulation. Attendees and creators interviewed by Samsung said the moving visuals appeared more lifelike and attracted attention on social media. Samsung said the installation reflects potential applications for Spatial Signage beyond gaming events, including retail, theme parks and other public venues. The company cited previous deployments at Everland Safari World in South Korea and the Governors Ball Music Festival in the United States, where the displays were used for visitor engagement and merchandise promotion.
