Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for stronger international cooperation to address global threats, saying Ukraine’s experience of resilience is rooted in uniting the abilities of individuals and institutions. He made the remarks during the Sixth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen on Aug. 25, 2026. The summit focused on “World 2026: Finding Stability in Times of Uncertainty.” Zelenskyy thanked participants for their support for Ukraine and their work promoting dialogue and the exchange of experience. He described resilience as active effort rather than passive endurance, highlighting the contributions of civilians, including those defending the country, saving lives, working, studying and teaching. According to Zelenskyy, these individual efforts combine to form Ukraine’s broader national strength. The president said the same principle should guide cooperation among countries facing war, cyberattacks, energy pressure, disinformation, and food and climate crises. He called for a systematic “architecture of resilience” involving shared standards, exchanges of expertise, backup systems for critical infrastructure and rapid-response capabilities.
