Ukrainian youth organizations from more than 35 countries joined a global online meeting ahead of Ukraine’s Independence Day on Aug. 24, according to an announcement from the Office of the President of Ukraine. The meeting focused on coordinating events and strengthening cooperation among young Ukrainians abroad. The session was chaired by Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President. Representatives of Ukrainian government ministries, youth leaders, students, volunteers and activists from Europe, the United States, Asia, Australia and the Middle East also took part. Budanov urged young Ukrainians to organize local initiatives, participate in events and display Ukrainian flags at public buildings, youth centers, universities and Ukrainian organizations. He said coordinated activities would demonstrate unity among Ukrainians living around the world. Participants also discussed the Coordination Center for Ukrainian Youth Abroad, established in February 2026. The center plans to hold regional meetings in Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and Australia to identify community needs and develop proposals with government agencies, diplomatic missions and international partners.
