First Lady Olena Zelenska joined Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi and Education and Science Minister Andrii Butenko at Ukraine’s annual national education conference, “Serpneva-2026,” held under the slogan “Education Is Everyone’s Responsibility.” The conference focused on priorities for the upcoming school year amid the continuing war with Russia. Zelenska highlighted measures aimed at strengthening student welfare, including the School Nutrition Reform. Beginning Sept. 1, more than 3 million schoolchildren are expected to receive free hot lunches, according to the statement. She also pointed to the implementation of Ukraine’s All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program and the government’s approval of a concept for developing psychological services through 2030. The initiative is intended to integrate psychological support into school life and help educators identify and assist students facing difficulties. The conference addressed the development of preschool education, the New Ukrainian School program, specialized upper-secondary education, and vocational and professional pre-higher education. Four practical zones presented tools for educators, while the network of Schools of Superheroes reached 22 locations in 19 cities, with eight additional centers planned by the end of the year with support from the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
