Queensland police are appealing for information after two suspicious vegetation fires were reported in the Mount Morgan area on August 12. Investigators are examining the cause of the fires and whether they were connected. Emergency services were called to grass fires near the Burnett Highway at Bouldercombe at about 11:20 a.m. The fires were extinguished shortly afterward. A second fire was reported near the Burnett Highway at Mount Morgan at about 4 p.m. and was extinguished by around 10 p.m. No evacuations were required and no injuries were reported. Police are asking anyone with relevant information, including vision of the incidents, to contact Policelink through its online suspicious activity form or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
