Seven Charged in Rockhampton Drug Probe

Seven people have been charged following a series of targeted investigations into alleged drug trafficking in the Rockhampton area, Queensland Police Service said. Police seized drugs with an estimated street value of $750,000, about $80,000 in cash and several firearms during searches in Rockhampton, Tanby and Molendinar.

In June, officers from Rockhampton’s Criminal Investigation Branch, assisted by the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad, searched a property in Park Avenue. They allegedly found methylamphetamine, cocaine, a shortened firearm and cash, arresting four men aged between 21 and 24. The men face various charges, including drug trafficking, drug possession and weapons offences.

A separate search at a Tanby property on July 19 allegedly uncovered methylamphetamine and a firearm. A 42-year-old man was charged with multiple drug, weapons and property offences. In August, police arrested a 33-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman at a business in Berserker. A subsequent search of a storage unit in Molendinar allegedly located two rifles, a shotgun, a mechanical pill press and a quantity of MDMA powder.

The accused people are due to appear at Rockhampton Magistrates Court on various dates between September and December. Police said investigations remain ongoing and urged anyone with information about suspected drug trafficking or illegal firearms to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
