Samsung has introduced a new ringtone based on Frédéric Chopin’s “Nocturne in E-flat Major, Op. 9, No. 2” for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. The ringtone launches with the company’s One UI 9 software.

The piece was performed by pianist Yekwon Sunwoo, who became the first Korean winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2017. Samsung said the selection of Chopin’s Op. 9, No. 2 also reflects the shared number in the One UI 9 release.

The recording took place at Samsung Galaxy Sound Studios at the company’s Seoul R&D Campus. Sound Mirror Korea’s Byeong Joon Hwang and Young Jae Jang oversaw the recording and mixing, while piano technician Hyungu Kang worked on the instrument’s tone.

Samsung said the ringtone is intended to bring classical music into users’ daily routines, including incoming-call alerts and alarms. Sunwoo said the project allowed him to present the emotional qualities of the composition to Galaxy users worldwide.
