Police Link Four Townsville Incidents

Queensland Police have released new CCTV footage as detectives investigate four incidents in the Townsville area they believe are linked, including a shooting, two fires and further gunfire. Police said the incidents were targeted and there was no ongoing threat to the general public.

Investigators said unknown suspects forced entry to a property on Purono Parkway, Yabulu, at about 10 p.m. on September 22, 2025, where shots were fired. At about 4 a.m. on February 9, 2026, a business on Bayswater Road, Currajong, was set alight. Police also received reports of shots fired at a fitness facility on Woolcock Street, Mount Louisa, and a vehicle fire on Black River Road, Black River.

Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Inspector Dave Barron urged anyone with information about the incidents or the people involved to contact police or Crime Stoppers. “We appreciate the assistance provided by the community so far and encourage anyone else who has knowledge of these offences or offenders to contact police,” Barron said.

Police asked people providing information to quote reference numbers QP2600259321, QP2600259337, QP2501715887 and QP2600259335. The investigation remains ongoing.
