A 41-year-old Eagleby man has been charged over two alleged incidents involving vehicle damage, assault and threatening behaviour in Beenleigh on July 21, Queensland Police said. Police allege the man approached a woman’s parked vehicle on George Street after a minor traffic crash at about 10:25 a.m. and kicked the driver’s-side window, causing damage. He allegedly tried to open the locked door before leaving in a utility vehicle. The 24-year-old woman was not physically injured. About an hour later, police allege the man approached another vehicle near a pedestrian crossing on George Street while carrying an open drink can. He allegedly verbally abused the 22-year-old driver and threw the can through a partially open window, striking her. The woman and her eight-month-old child were not physically injured. The man has been charged with two counts each of wilful damage and attempted entry to premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, along with single counts of common assault, going armed to cause fear, carrying an exposed weapon in a public place and obstructing police. He was refused police bail and was due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 24. Police cited reference numbers QP2601409815 and QP2601424585.
