Queensland police have charged two Darts Creek residents after allegedly seizing seven unregistered firearms, a crossbow and ammunition during a search of a property in the Gladstone region. The search was conducted on July 14 by the Gladstone Tactical Crime Squad, with assistance from Rockhampton Tactical Crime Squad and the Gladstone Criminal Investigation Branch. A 30-year-old man was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of weapons and one count relating to the unauthorised possession of explosives, including ammunition. A 23-year-old woman was charged with one count of unlawful possession of weapons. Both are scheduled to appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court on August 3. Detective Inspector Luke Peachey said police would continue targeting the illegal possession of firearms and other dangerous weapons.
