Six Charged in Brisbane Drug Crackdown

Six people have been charged with more than 130 offences following a Queensland Police investigation into alleged drug trafficking across Brisbane’s northern suburbs. Boondall Tactical Crime Squad officers conducted targeted operations in late June and early July, executing search warrants in Bald Hills, Zillmere, Carina and Stafford Heights.

Police said the matters are not alleged to be connected. Seized items included cannabis, cocaine, methylamphetamine, MDMA, LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, prescription medicines, drug paraphernalia and more than $57,000 in alleged drug-related cash.

A 32-year-old Carina man faces 73 charges, including 60 counts of allegedly supplying dangerous drugs and one count of trafficking. A 39-year-old Stafford Heights man was charged with 26 offences, including 24 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, while a 49-year-old Zillmere man faces 13 charges, including trafficking and possession offences.

Three other people—a 27-year-old Bald Hills man, a 39-year-old Zillmere woman and a 25-year-old Bald Hills man—face between one and 12 charges involving alleged drug possession, supply, weapons and related offences. Several of the accused have been remanded in custody or are due to appear before Brisbane or Sandgate magistrates courts between July and August. Police said the charges represented a disruption to alleged local drug supply networks.
