Queensland police have charged two people after allegedly seizing 234.5 grams of methamphetamine during a search warrant operation in Mount Isa’s Pioneer area. The Mount Isa Tactical Crime Squad executed the warrant at about 6:40 a.m. on July 13. Police said they located multiple bags containing a substance believed to be methylamphetamine, with the seized drugs estimated to have a street value of approximately $165,000. A 43-year-old Mount Isa man faces six charges, including three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and charges relating to suspected drug-offence property and restricted items. Bail was refused, and he is expected to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on October 15. A 37-year-old Soldiers Hill woman faces four charges, including possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of category A, B or M weapons, and possession of drug-use utensils.
