Detectives from the Cairns Criminal Investigation Branch have made a new arrest in a long-standing fraud case, marking the fourth person charged in this extensive five-year investigation. On June 10, a 37-year-old woman from Coen was apprehended, with charges related to misuse of significant funds.

The investigation alleges that between 2022 and 2025, the Coen woman misappropriated over $30,000 to finance a luxurious experience at rugby league games in Brisbane. Charges include one count of dishonestly applying property as a director, highlighting severe breaches of trust and corporate responsibility. She is scheduled to appear in the Coen Magistrates Court on July 8.

Queensland Police urge the public to assist by reporting any suspicious activities.
