Detectives from the Logan Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) have charged a 16-year-old boy following a serious assault in Yarrabilba on June 6, 2026. The incident, which occurred outside a local bakery on Yarrabilba Drive at around 7:35 pm, involved a group of four males allegedly causing a disturbance.

According to police reports, the disturbance escalated when one of the youths threw a bottle at the bakery, resulting in damage to the shopfront. A subsequent altercation near a shopping center entrance on Gold Drive led to the teenager allegedly throwing a rock at a 46-year-old man, causing him a serious leg injury. The victim, also from Yarrabilba, sustained a leg fracture and was later hospitalized.

Following thorough investigations, authorities apprehended the teenager on June 11. He has been dealt with under the Youth Justice Act, facing charges including grievous bodily harm, attempted enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offense, and wilful damage. The police continue their investigations and urge anyone with information to come forward.
