A Riverview man has been charged following a series of investigations into a sexual assault incident that occurred in Brisbane City. Queensland Police allege that the 49-year-old man sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl between 3:00 AM and 4:50 AM on May 2nd near Central Station.

The assault reportedly took place in the vicinity of Turbot Street and Wickham Terrace, and the incident was reported to the police later that day. After extensive investigations, authorities located and arrested the suspect in Riverview on June 5th. He faces charges of rape and sexual assault and was remanded in custody, with a court appearance scheduled for June 15th at the Brisbane Magistrates Court.

As investigations continue, Queensland Police are seeking additional witnesses who were in the area between 2:30 AM and 5:20 AM on the day of the incident. They are specifically looking for two potential witnesses captured in new CCTV footage around Wickham Terrace and Creek Street. These individuals are not believed to be involved in the crime but may provide valuable information for the case.

The first individual is described as a male wearing cream-coloured pants and a black jumper, last seen near Central Station at approximately 4:40 AM. The second is described as wearing white shoes, a white, black, and blue jumper, and a black cap, last seen on Adelaide Street at 2:57 AM. Queensland Police urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in the ongoing case.
