Detectives from the Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch have extradited a 32-year-old Townsville man from Western Australia following his arrest on a luxury yacht. The man, allegedly a member of an outlaw motorcycle gang, was apprehended 53km off the coast of Exmouth as he reportedly attempted to flee to Indonesia. The operation unfolded early Monday morning when the Western Australia Police Force tactical response group intercepted the yacht with three individuals onboard. The arrest was a collaborative effort involving the WA Joint Organised Crime Taskforce (WA JOCTF). Following his capture, the suspect appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on June 2, 2026, where he was remanded in custody pending extradition proceedings initiated by Queensland Police. The individual faces several charges including trafficking in dangerous drugs, assault occasioning bodily harm, two counts of driving unlicensed, and evading police.
