Police are currently investigating a suspicious vehicle fire that occurred in Cannonvale on June 4, 2026, which led to the destruction of two vehicles and damage to nearby residential units.

The incident was reported around 4:50 AM at a unit complex on Border Drive, where the blaze started in the car park beneath the building. Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, and the fire was extinguished a short while later. Although two vehicles were completely destroyed, the rapid response helped prevent further escalation.

Fortunately, there were no physical injuries reported as all ten occupants of the affected units were safely evacuated. However, two of the units did suffer smoke damage. Queensland Police have established a crime scene and are appealing to the public for any information or footage that could assist in their ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire.
