Queensland police are appealing for information after a motorcycle rider was seriously injured in a crash in Mareeba on the night of May 24. Police said the crash occurred on Ray Road at about 7 p.m., when a motorcycle collided with a wallaby before striking a Mitsubishi Lancer. The 21-year-old Mareeba rider was taken to Mareeba Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Lancer, also a 21-year-old Mareeba man, was not injured and assisted the motorcycle rider at the scene. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and wants to speak with anyone who saw either vehicle in the area before the crash.
