Samsung Unveils 6K Gaming Monitor

Samsung Electronics has announced the global availability of its 2026 Odyssey gaming monitors and ViewFinity S8 professional displays, led by what it describes as the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor. The new lineup includes three Odyssey G8 models, an OLED-equipped Odyssey G7 and two ViewFinity S8 monitors.

The 32-inch Odyssey G8 G80HS supports 6K resolution at 165Hz and can reach up to 330Hz at 3K resolution through its Dual Mode feature. A 27-inch G8 model supports 5K resolution at 180Hz or up to 360Hz at QHD resolution. Samsung’s OLED G8 models offer 4K resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate and USB-C connectivity with charging of up to 98 watts.

The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G7 expands the company’s OLED gaming range with 4K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, a 0.03-millisecond response time and Dual Mode support of up to 330Hz at full HD resolution. Across the gaming lineup, Samsung said features include DisplayPort 2.1, HDR10+ Gaming, AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility.

The ViewFinity S8 lineup includes a 40-inch curved WUHD monitor with a 144Hz refresh rate and Thunderbolt 5 connectivity capable of data transfer speeds of up to 80 gigabits per second and charging of up to 140 watts. A 27-inch model offers 5K resolution and USB-C connectivity. Samsung said all of the new monitors are available for order starting May 20.
