Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met Romanian President Nicușor Dan in Bucharest on May 13, with talks focusing on technological cooperation, drone production and Ukraine’s European integration efforts.

Zelenskyy thanked Dan for inviting him to the Bucharest Nine Summit and proposed cooperation through a special “Drone Deal” framework. He said Ukraine had signed a similar agreement with Lithuania earlier in the day. The two leaders agreed that their teams would work out the details of the proposal.

The meeting also covered Ukraine’s progress toward European Union membership, including its goal of opening negotiation clusters as soon as possible. The presidents reviewed agreements reached during Zelenskyy’s visit to Bucharest in March.

Dan separately thanked Ukraine for considering proposals from Romania’s Ukrainian community regarding the organization of education.
