Police in Townsville are currently investigating a physical altercation that occurred this morning following a traffic incident on Nathan Street, Heatley. The incident involved a red Chevrolet ute and a white Ford hatchback around 7:45 am. According to early reports, a confrontation ensued between the 57-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet from Alice River and the 68-year-old male driver of the Ford from Shaw. The dispute escalated into a physical assault. Subsequently, the 68-year-old was transported to Townsville University Hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have closed the southbound side of Nathan Street to all traffic as they continue their investigation.
