In a devastating start to the day, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Bruce Highway in Glenwood, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old man and setting off a chain of disruptive events. The Queensland Police’s Forensic Crash Unit is currently investigating the sequence of accidents that unfolded on the morning of March 20, 2026. The initial crash involved a prime mover truck and a sedan near the Bolderrow Road intersection. According to preliminary findings, the collision took place shortly after 7:45 AM, causing the prime mover to roll over. The sedan’s driver, a 35-year-old male, sustained critical injuries and despite receiving immediate medical attention at the scene, was declared deceased. The occupants of the truck, a 57-year-old male driver and a 59-year-old female passenger, escaped unharmed. The aftermath of the crash led to the closure of Bruce Highway in both directions for several hours, with traffic being redirected through Abbortwelve Road. This diversion resulted in a secondary accident around 10:30 AM when a truck, negotiating a bend and towing a load, lost control. The loose load collided with another vehicle, although no injuries were reported in this incident. Both vehicles were eventually cleared from Abbortwelve Road. The Queensland Police are urging anyone who witnessed either of the accidents or has dashcam footage that could aid the investigations to come forward. Information can be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers or by contacting Policelink. The ongoing investigations aim to uncover the precise causes of the accidents and prevent future tragedies on these roads. Post navigation Mapoon Braces for Cyclone!
