Investigators in Southeast Queensland have successfully concluded a widespread investigation into a series of property crimes and vehicle thefts, leading to the arrest of a 45-year-old man. The suspect was charged with a total of 77 offenses, encompassing a diverse range of criminal activities across multiple districts. From January 16 to March 1, the accused allegedly committed numerous crimes throughout the Brisbane’s south, Logan, Ipswich, and Toowoomba policing districts. With the coordinated efforts of the Bayside Property Crime team and the South Brisbane District Intelligence Unit, extensive investigations culminated in his arrest on March 6. The arrest occurred in North Booval, where a blue Mitsubishi Pajero with supposed false plates was seized. This vehicle is believed to have been stolen from Capalaba on January 28. Further investigations led police to execute a search warrant at a Kholo Road address in Kholo on March 7. This operation, supported by the Ipswich Tactical Crime Squad and Goodna police, resulted in the recovery of additional stolen vehicles and items, including a grey Mitsubishi Pajero, two box trailers, a blue Toyota Landcruiser utility, a Caterpillar excavator, and a shipping container filled with tools and vehicle parts. The 45-year-old was formally charged with 36 counts of stealing, 20 counts of entering premises to commit an indictable offence, among other charges. He was first presented before the Ipswich Magistrates Court on March 7 and is due for his next court appearance in Toowoomba on April 13. As the investigations continue, the police encourage anyone with information to come forward and assist by contacting Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
