Police in Yeppoon, Queensland have apprehended a 33-year-old woman on multiple charges following a series of fires that erupted early on the morning of March 7, 2026. The suspect, currently without a permanent address, faces serious allegations including arson and endangering property.

The sequence of events began at approximately 3:15 AM when emergency services were summoned to Normanby Street due to a business engulfed in flames. Shortly thereafter, at 3:45 AM, a second alert directed responders to another fire at a Cliff Street business. A third fire was reported at 4:36 AM on John Street. Fortunately, all fires were extinguished swiftly after the reports.

The charges laid against the woman include seven counts of wilful damage, two counts of arson, one count of breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence, one count of attempted theft, and one count of endangering property by fire. She is currently held in custody and is scheduled for a court appearance at the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on March 9.
