In a recent address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined ongoing efforts to secure the release of all Ukrainians held captive by Russia, while also detailing Ukraine’s active diplomatic engagements amid escalating regional conflicts.

President Zelenskyy emphasized the strength and resilience of Ukraine’s military positions and defense capabilities, which he credited for bolstering the nation’s standing with international partners. He expressed gratitude towards the Ukrainian military and intelligence services for their roles in reinforcing Ukraine’s defense and facilitating prisoner exchanges.

Additionally, Zelenskyy highlighted Ukraine’s continuous dialogue with the United States, despite current delays in tripartite discussions due to the situation with Iran. He reassured that Ukraine remains prepared to resume diplomatic efforts as soon as conditions permit.

The address also covered Ukraine’s interactions with Middle Eastern and Gulf countries, who are currently grappling with security challenges from Iran, including missile and drone attacks. The Iranian threat has notably escalated to attempts to block the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil and gas transport route, prompting discussions on security and stability with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Throughout his speech, Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to global peace and security, stating that any support provided by Ukraine comes with the assurance that it does not compromise their own defense. He concluded by thanking all international partners and reaffirming Ukraine’s dedication to ending the war with dignity and achieving lasting security.
