According to the Queensland Police Service (QPS), the young victim was approached by an adult male while walking along Station Road around 3:40 pm. The assailant allegedly asked the boy for the time, prompting the boy to retrieve his iPhone from his backpack. It was then that the male snatched the phone and assaulted the boy before fleeing the scene on foot heading north along Station Road. The boy suffered minor injuries from the encounter and was subsequently taken to Logan Hospital for medical observation.
