In a solemn gathering at Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, alongside First Lady Olena Zelenska and numerous European leaders, marked the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion by praying for peace and unity in Ukraine. The event, held on February 24, 2026, symbolized a collective wish for a “dignified peace” amidst ongoing conflict.

The prayer session was attended by a notable roster of European dignitaries, including President of Finland Alexander Stubb, President of the European Council António Costa, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and the Prime Ministers of Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Norway, Croatia, and Sweden. Also present was the Lithuanian Minister of National Defense, Robertas Kaunas. Representatives from various Ukrainian and European religious organizations joined in the prayers, highlighting the broad support for Ukraine’s plight.

The leaders and religious representatives prayed earnestly for the well-being of Ukrainian soldiers, the release of prisoners of war, and the millions displaced by the conflict.
